What Can You Expect?

So, what can you expect when the Faith Renaissance community gathers for worship?

A few minutes before 9:00 am, you will likely find most folks geting a fresh cup of coffee before entering the worship space.  Once entering the Art Gallery, a meditative atmosphere greets you and helps you center yourself for worship.  Candles, soothing music, and several tables are set up for adults and children to encourage your creativity and relationship with God. Whether you are writing a haiku about the beatitudes, sketching a picture of a psalm passage, lighting a candle for someone you love, or meditating on pictures created in the art studio, there is no end to the ways in which you can pray and worship God.  Time for prayer and silent reflection are vital life lines to the community in a world that is often over-stimulated and constantly on the go.

The music for Faith Renaissance led by a small praise team is heartfelt, contemporary in style, and eclectic to fit the purpose of each individual service.  Whether the praise team leads you in a song you have heard on the radio, a Taize prayer song written by monks in France, or a new song written by a member of the community, the music will enhance your worship experience.

Preaching is conversational and all are invited to share their thoughts, questions, doubts and insights as the community grows together spiritually.  Sometimes, you will find that Pastor Wes shares a movie clip or a video created by one of the members of the community to spark coversation.  Worship here is about participation not hiding on the sidelines.  With that being said -- not everyone who participates with Faith Renaissance is a Christian -- and that's okay.  Everyone is welcome regardless of where you are in the journey of life and faith.

Sharing a meal is important too -- so communion is offered at every gathering.

Most importantly, the focus is on Jesus Christ and his teachings.  It is our hope that at every worship gathering you will be touched by God's love and the love of the community for one another.

We also encourage participation, both through the conversational dialogue during the service but also outside of the church through our blogs and in the Art Studio throughout the week.  Help give us your ideas for prayer and worship and write about how you have seen God at work in your life.  Our blogs are a place where you can be in fellowship more than once a week.  Worship is not an event; it is a lifestyle.
